What have you been thinking about recently?

Posted on Feb 1st, 2008 by Cinc : Mr. President Cinc
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 01, 2008:

Why did Edwards quit? After campaigning for so long, he quits ...NOW!? Just before Super Tuesday? That's what his loyal supporters and hard-working staff were aiming for: To (finally) make a statement on the big (primary) payoff day. Super Tuesday for Dems (unlike for GOP) is not a series of winner-take-all primaries. John might have only come in third place - maybe even a distant third. But we'll never know how much of an impact he might have made. We'll never know how much any dogged persistence on his part might have influenced Barack's or Hillary's campaign or their overall agenda.

We'll never know because Edwards didn't even try - he quit! I won't quit on you. I'm still in this race: Your last, best hope.

I wish he hadn't quit, though I was worried about his wife's health.

Good luck, Steven. And when you're ready to wrap up your campaign, be sure to endorse Obama.

Thank you for the “good luck.” However, I was thinking more along these lines: When Obama is ready to wrap up his campaign, I hope he'll endorse me. I know there are a lot of hopeful, idealistic people out there who think Obama will usher in a new era of peace, prosperity, and justice. If he's elected, though, people will quickly find out that he's nothing more than a Daley Democrat who speaks well but neither can nor will do anything to upset the status quo.
